Privacy policy

This page is maintained by the My Shoppy team to explain what we collect when you post a buyer brief and how those details are handled. Last updated August 2026.

What we collect

When you submit a buyer brief we collect the information you type into the form: your budget range, the postcodes or suburbs you are searching, a description of the property you want, your name, email address and Australian mobile number.

We do not ask for identity documents, financial statements or payment details, and we never request your banking or login credentials.

How we use your details

Your brief is shared with licensed Australian real estate agents so they can send you property offers that match what you described. We also use your contact details to reply to you about your brief and to confirm your mobile number format.

We do not sell your personal information.

Where your data is stored

Briefs are stored in our managed cloud database. Access is restricted: briefs are submitted from this website but cannot be read back through the public website, and only authorised team members and matched agents can view them.

Marketing and cookies

We only email you about your brief and matching offers. Every email includes an unsubscribe option. The site uses functional storage needed to run the form; we do not run third-party advertising trackers.

Retention and deletion

We keep briefs for as long as they are useful to your search. You can ask us to delete your brief and contact details at any time and we will action the request.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us for a copy of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct them, or make a privacy complaint by emailing privacy@myshoppy.au. We aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and the date above.
